Re: What's on your Valentine's Day menu?

I have a feeling we'll probably eat in this Valentine's Day.  Some years, we would go out for oriental food as many restaurants in our area had big 'specials' that day.  But with it following on Chinese New Years ... I don't expect it.  The owners will all want to go to NYC or Philadelphia (both only an hour away) to celebrate THEIR New Years - since they coincide.  That is why, in past, they gave us 'specials' on Valentine's Day!  Darn!

We'll probably have lamb chops (grilled or oven broiled) - with oven roasted fingerling potatoes w/ fresh rosemary and garlic; roasted asparagus and a nice tossed salad.  And some good crusty rolls.  Probably NOT poppin fresh rolls .. as I make a goodly portion of our rolls using my sour dough starter and good white whole flour and other 'healthy' but 'good' stuff.

Dessert?  Its still in the planning stage .. but there will be some chocolate connected and, I hope, raspberries.

Right now I'm preparing to roll out some sugar cookie dough I made today - and cut out heart cookies - bake, frost and mail to our granddaughter at college in another state.   I might stick some brownies in there too if there is enough room in the box!

Happy Valentine's Day!

We're heading out of town on V-Day, so breakfast will be our celebration meal at home before we leave. What's on the menu?  Probably crepes and strawberries. Yum!  Is it Sunday yet?

We might go out for pizza but mostly we are staying home and cooking. I bought Pillsbury sweet rolls for the morning. [:)]

I'm sending a few love notes from the doughboy this year also.
