Recipe Saved???

After I typed out my recipe, at the bottom of the page it says "SAVE", so I hit that button, now where did the entire recipe go to?

Re: Recipe Saved???

I am having the same problem.  I know that we are working against a deadline here.  I really do not want to type the whole recipe out again and then find out that it hasn't been saved.  I am going to call the contact number they provided and talk to a representative in the morning and get some answers.  GOOD LUCK!

Re: Recipe Saved???

It just happened to me too.   I was resubmitting my recipe to make a correction.   Unbelievable.  I may have to take off work tomorrow.  [:(]

Re: Recipe Saved???

It did that to me the first time, I had forgot to put in my recipe name. I just redid that recipe (with the name), saved it and it showed up in my saved list. I tried to submit it and it finally came to a page with an internal server error, so I can't do anything at all! I have 8 more recipes to do! Is this happening to anyone else?

Re: Recipe Saved???

I'm having the same problem only I can't even get in to log my next 4 recipes. Do you think it is because everyone is busy putting submitting recipes? I meant to submit earlier today, but I wanted to make sure I had everything in order before I did.  I hope this doesn't mean we are out of the running. Mary

Yes the same thing happened to me too... I found that saving it segment by segment ( hit save after filling out each step) saved it instead of filling out all fields and then submitting...  hope this helps :) You still have time its not due until noon [:)]

Re: Recipe Saved???

Hi Everyone:

So there were some technical issues on Saturday afternoon, but the good news is those were resolved and since then we have been successfully receiving entries. If you don't think your recipe went through- please resubmit your recipe by 11:59 a.m. CT today. For any reason if you are still experiencing issues, please call 1-800-775-4777 for help.

Sincerely, CC

Re: Recipe Saved???

I've had issues getting my recipes to save since Saturday. Getting 404 error, asking me to allow cookies even though they are set and had previously not presented an issue. I was up until 3 am all 3 nights, because of having to redo my work and double checking that I didn't miss any steps.  After awhile I would just add an ingrediant or step and save and then do this for each addition.  So frustrating.  Its unfortunate as was only able to submit a few of the many I had. I recognize I've had months to get these in and should have submitted each as I developed the recipe.

  Some suggestions for next year;

Place a time out feature visable so that we know to save it or lose it.

Place a button from the contest homepage directly to our "saved recipes" once we have logged in.

Add a button to the contect home page to our submited recipes so that we can double check easily if in fact it was received by Pillsbury. I found it very time constantly go back through the entry links just to get to my saved recipes or to ensure what I sent took.

Also add link to each product with the baking directions. Its easy to forget the temp or general cooking time if we forget to annotate.  A quick link would be very helpful.

How about product recognition technology.  Sometimes what we think is our own great recipe has already been done or created with slight variations and previously published by Pillsbury or someone else.  When selected products are made, a message indicating the same ingrediants have been used in combination and an optional link so that we can verify we aren't submitting something too similar. No one wants to inadvertantly plagerize anothers recipe or concept.

Lastly thank you for an awesome contest!

Re: Recipe Saved???

I too was attempting to put in my recipe this morning and every time I hit save and went on to submit everything was gone. After numerous attempts I gave up because the deadline had come. How sad that I worked so hard only to be excluded due to technical issues. I hope things improve next year because I really had my heart set on winning this contest.

Re: Recipe Saved???

I too am very disappointed in the whole contest process.  Whoever (and I think we can assume it was a person) designed this contest submission page really screwed up.  I worked for a few hours on Friday evening attempting to save, submit several times.  The only thing it saved was the name of my recipe, that's it, now I can't even find that!  I have called the company, to determine if they are extending the deadline, because I think they ought to.  The page was very poorly designed and managed.  My big gripe is that Pillsbury should have allowed for a hard copy to be printed and mailed US mail, to validate, when needed that the contestant met the deadline, but the Internet did not.  This stuff is new and obviously all the glitches haven't been worked out.

Maybe we should begin a letter-writing campaign, or boycott their products.  This is not fair!

Re: Recipe Saved???

I think it's easy to look at the glass half full and throw out words like "boycott" etc...that's the American Way sometimes...he he...but really guys...it's not like Pillsbury created some glitches on purpose or that it's the last and final bake off there will ever be.

While I "get" people asking questions about it, I think it's so unfortunate to have such a wonderful opportunity given to us and I "dont get" that if it doesn't go as easy as we'd like that some then talk about boycotts and get so negative...

Things happen that can't be foreseen. Did I have to retype and retype and retype? Sure I did. But those that didn't get in, I'll do next contest. They didnt stop doing the contest ever again due to a computer glitch, after all...and new systems require things be worked out like in any company. I'll forgive them that.  I have no problem with it...no one is out to get me. I submitted about 34 recipes and lost stuff on a great deal of them. But can I understand that, in the desire to be green and eliminate paper, things that can't be foreseen may happen? Sure I can...

What I did do was read the FAQ column when I had issues and realized that my session was just timing out...so I then wrote out everything on paper first, submitted quickly, and no longer had issues. Saturday they did have issues with being able to sign on, etc. but I wrote them about it and it looks like others did too...and it was fixed in a few hours so I had plenty time left to submit entries.

So, with a smile on my face I said "oh well" and I just retyped it when I had problems. Those recipes I had that didn't meet the deadline I smiled and said "Oh well, next time." It never angered me once. After all, accidents happen in life...

This wasn't done on purpose...why punish a company that is giving one of you, or us, a million dollars just for being a consumer with a good recipe??

Personally, I wish all companies would be that giving...

My glass is always half full...it's just "how I roll." So no, I won't be boycotting...maybe the web designer wasn't up to par, but Pillsbury is not a web company...they make, and give away, lots of dough. So boycott the guy who worked on the website...and submit that million dollar recipe in your pocket again...

just trying to keep things light here....

I was completely blind for almost a year of my life after a botched lasik surgery and told I'd never see again. (Miracles happen...6 newly invented surgeries later and I can) Trust me, a computer glitch is really so small of a thing in the scheme of all that one could have to complain about...to me, something like that would never make me vengeful. But that's just me.

Breathe....just breathe....let it go....submit it for the next contest. It wasn't done to you on purpose.

Glass. Half. Full.

Re: Recipe Saved???

by the way, vdavis, on my recipes the ones I could print out with the logo on the top left were submitted just fine...so yes, I think yours all went through. The ones that didn't had an error message when submitted and could not be printed.

Re: Recipe Saved???

Hi Everyone:

Just talked to the Pillsbury Consumer services and it’s best that if you have questions about recipe submissions to call them at 1-800-775-4777. I know I sound like a broken record- but they can look into that information (I can’t).

I do want to personally say thank you to all that posted – we are appreciative that you took the time to talk to us. We will be sharing your thoughts with Bake-Off® Contest officials so they can take them into consideration for future planning.[:)]

Sincerely, Cate

Re: Recipe Saved???

Resigned to repeated technical difficulties Sunday evening attempting to save and submit.  Continued Monday morning but I was delighted to be able to finally submit recipe.  Unfortunately, the final submitted recipe was rewritten many times correctly while the system failed to accurately save it, resulting in the final rewritten submission to not contain instructions for a crucial ingredient.  What can I do to remedy this? [*-)]
