Cake mix

I picked up a cake mix that is suppose to be the Golden butter recipe but I try not to use butter in the cakes.

Is it ok to replace the butter with apple sauce instead?

Re: Cake mix

Hi, @sinfulintrigue! When it comes to using apple sauce instead of butter or other fats/oils, the general rule of thumb is to only replace 3/4 of the amount of butter/shortening used with apple sauce. Replacing all of the fat with apple sauce has been done, but it's not recommended as the results will be different in terms of taste and texture. Good luck!
