Best Stay-at-home Movie-watching Snacks

Sometimes, I just can’t justify spending money at the movie theater concessions stand when I know I could concoct something twenty times better at home and save a little money in the process. So, for those of you who, like me, enjoy the occasional, quiet night in with a movie and some imaginative eats, here are some of Pillsbury’s most heavenly motion picture munchies.

Flaky Pizza Snacks
Isn’t it funny how pizza always seems to make any movie more enjoyable? You can use Pillsbury’s Refrigerated Crescent Dinner Rolls OR Crescent Recipe Creations as mini-pizza crusts for this miracle of a snack. The recipe yields 16 that will be ready in about one half hour.

Crispy Bat Snacks
Though they may not be Count Dracula’s favorite midnight snack, these tortilla Bat Snacks could satisfy the Dark Knight himself. The recipe includes directions for a sweet apple dip that sounds extra super fantastic and could easily match up with a variety of other dipping snacks, as well. On that note, I suppose you can cut the tortillas into whatever shapes you like in case, you know… bats aren’t really your thing.

Chicken Feed
Three of your best friends want to come over and watch a movie with you. Which three, you ask? Sunflower seeds, candy corn, and popcorn (the classic movie snack)! In fact, that’s the entire recipe right there. Pillsbury lists the directions as simply, “In large bowl, mix ingredients.” http://www.pillsbury.com/Recipes/ShowRecipe.aspx?rid=18493

Mexican Snack Squares
Thinking about popping in your favorite Clint Eastwood movie? For the more adventurous among you, these south-of-the-border stars should be worth the extra effort! Using some Old El Paso refried beans and taco seasoning mix, along with Pillsbury refrigerated dough (you can use the crescent rolls also), this recipe yields a whopping 48 Snack Squares.

Delicious! Now all I have to do is pick out a movie…. Please share any and all of your favorite film-watching treats! Also, I would love to hear any ideas about theme parties (and what food you make for them) around certain movies. Please share!

Best,

Erin D.
