Egg Substitute

I am new to the site and I noticed that many of the crescent recipes call for brushing with egg.  My son is allergic to eggs.  What is a substitute that I could use?  Thanks!!

Re: Egg Substitute

Hi, @Lachanda12! Welcome to the community! Since egg is generally used to add a nice shine and golden brown-ness to these crescent recipes, you can use egg beaters or other egg white substitutes! We hope this helps!

Re: Egg Substitute

Hi all!

Since an allergic reaction to eggs can be brought on by Egg Beaters or Egg Whites as they contain eggs please do not use these to glaze your Crescent Roll recipes.  You can use cream, half & half, or milk to get the same effect without the allergic reaction unless, of course, there is a dairy allergy as well.  I hope this info is helpful for you.

Thank you so much for your response!!  He doesn't have a dairy allergy, so milk it is!!  Again, thanks.  I'm off to the kitchen...
