Headlines: Fall is almost here, let’s make a PIE!
It’s that time of year where everyone starts breaking out the pie recipes. Whatever happens to be your filling of choice, blog across the Internet propose Pillsbury Refrigerated Pie Crusts as a great, easy alternative to homemade. In addition to 4 traditional, yet innovative pies, our last recipe of the week takes an old baking standard and gives it an exciting special ingredient!
Since I’ve been on somewhat of a pizza kick that last few weeks, I’ll start off our pie recipes with Pizza Pie. In addition to pizza sauce and cheese, this pie will contain hamburger, onions, and, as the blogger puts it, “whatever your pleasure.” The trick to this is to separate the different layers of meats, sauce, and whatever else with layers of cheese. In the end, you’ll have what might seem more like a kind of lasagna inside of a pie shell.

Fall must be right around the corner because I’m starting to see a large number of Apple Pie recipes popping up around the Web. This blogger answers the question “What would Martha do?” with a Pillsbury Pie Crust, as well as 8 Granny Smith Apples, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a bit of lemon juice. She also offers a great reminder to let your crust sit out for a bit, so it doesn’t fall apart from being too cold.

Blackberry Cobbler. So simple, yet so powerful. This particular recipe took the blogger her back to her childhood days of eating the same dish at her grandparent’s house. Using just blackberries, water, and sugar (and, or course, Pillsbury Pie Crusts) she gives us something that would make an excellent late-Summer dessert.

A blogger for this South Florida publication thinks her Cheddar Pear Pie might “replace the apple pie as an all-time favorite.” Using our Pie Crust as the bottom shell, and a cheddar, butter, and flour mixture as the top shell, this pie is filled with a delicious ripe pear filling. Any type of pears will work. If you try this one, let us know what kind of pears you decide to go with.

Last but not least, in the spirit of Halloween, we have a Candy Corn Pie! Just kidding. However, this great article on 10 alternative ways to use candy corn does include an Apple and Candy Corn Pie proposal. Number 8 of the 10 candy corn ideas uses Pillsbury Just Unroll refrigerated pie crust and might just be the most interesting take on Apple Pie that I’ve heard of in a while.
