Headlines: It’s Brunch Season!

With Valentine’s Day behind us and Easter, Mother’s Day, bridal showers, mother-daughter events, etc., creeping up on us, we can officially declare it brunch season!

Brunch is the delicious combination of breakfast and lunch: [br(eakfast) + (l)unch] = brunch [:D].  It merges light and heavy meals and is served before or after a morning event or gathering.  Brunch is my favorite!  So many choices!  But of course you don’t want to be slaving over the stove while guests are over trying to make the perfect eggs and pancakes, so here are some bake-ahead blogger recipes that find the perfect balance of breakfast and lunch:

Looking for something simple?  Look no further! This blogger’s Brunch Biscuits with Maple Turkey Sausage are so easy: only 3 ingredients, barely any prep time, 17 minutes to bake, and it serves 12 people!  http://stephaniemichael0418.blogspot.com/2010/02/brunch-biscuits-with-maple-turkey.html

How about baking this blogger’s hardy Breakfast Tart with Pancetta and Green Onions with eggs, pancetta, green onions and cheese! Toss everything into a Pillsbury Pie Crust and call it a day! http://dgrubs.wordpress.com/2010/02/14/breakfast-tart-with-pancetta-and-green-onions/

This blogger gathers with gal pals over her Breakfast Egg and Veggie Sausage Braid, that calls for a bottle of sparkling wine and three of your best friends to make this recipe extra special!

Of course a brunch isn’t complete without a little sweetness!  In this Apricot Caramel Brunch Cake, this blogger unites ewey gooey caramel, apricots, coconut and pecans on top of warm cake.  Great with a cup of coffee!  http://manndish.blogspot.com/2010/01/apricot-caramel-brunch-cake.html

What’s great about these recipes is that you can bake them the night before and you wont have to worry about a thing in the morning.  Okay … maybe just a few things, like the coffee, juice, and fresh fruit. [:P]

When do you bunch?  For special occasions and events?  Lazy weekends?  Get-togethers?  Please share!
