New Pillsbury Product: Simply Cookies

I can’t wait to check these out during my next trip to the supermarket.

I’m glad to see that there is: 0g trans fat, no high fructose corn syrup, no artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives. And the ingredients are same ingredients I would use if I were making them homemade.

They have three flavors: Peanut Butter, Chocolate Chip and the best of both worlds– Peanut Butter AND Chocolate Chip. Smile

And right now, you can print off a $1 dollar coupon.

Read more about it here: http://www.pillsbury.com/Products/Cookies/Simply-Cookies

Have you tried these yet? What did you think? Please give us your review!

I think it's a great idea that their coming out with cookies without alot of fat and perservatives, because these days by having kids you have to watch what you give them, because we all love " Pillsbury" cookies and can't wait to try the peanut butter and choocalate chip. Can I get the coupon by mail, because I have no access to a printer.

Re: New Pillsbury Product: Simply Cookies

My kids really love these new "Simply Cookies".  When I'm in a hurry I can bake just a couple to put in their lunchboxes.  They often sell out at my local grocery, which is a sign of a really great product!  Both flavors are outstanding.  Even my one child, who prefers chocolate chip cookies without the chocolate chips, eats these with no comment to what they would rather have!

Thanks for joining the boards and sharing your story! I just ended up buying the Simply peanut butter cookies to try them out and they reminded me of the ones my mom used to make us sometimes after school. Anyways, looking forward to your next posts!

Sincerely, Cate

Re: New Pillsbury Product: Simply Cookies

I, too, was excited about these. However, there is 1 key ingredient that they changed from the homemade cookie recipe; Butter. Switching out butter with vegetable shortening changes the taste and texture. Not only that, but vegetable shortening contains trans fats.

Note that the packaging says that there are 0 g trans fats per serving. Legally, as long as there is less than 1g per serving (meaning it could be up to .9), the company can claim 0 trans fats. This product is NOT free of trans fats. I really want a ready-made cookie dough that mimics what I would make (and if truly free of trans fats). Pillsbury please replace the shortening with butter!

Hi njcooks! These are a big hit for my family also! So, I haven't heard of any plans. If we do get new flavors, we'll be taking about it in the community!

Sincerely, Cate
