Can you make chocolate chip cookies cut outs?

I am in charge of the baking for my sons valentine's day party.  I wanted to make chocolate chip cookies in the shape of a heart.  I cannot get them to bake into the shape I put them in, they start out as hearts and then expand.

How can I make this work?  Do I just make a sheet of cookies on a cookie sheet and cut out from there?  If so, what is the cooking time and temp.  I have a big tub of the pillsbury chocolate chip cookie mix but it only gives temp and time for individual cookies.

Please help if you can!!  Thanks in advance Wink

Let me talk to Mary in Customer Service for you, but this happened to another customer who wanted to make stars using the sugar dough.

I had posted this photo to link which had very specific directions on getting them the right consistency to make shapes.

I'll post again when I hear from Mary! Sincerely, Cate

Hi again.

So I posted the second image here:

When I had talked to Mary she said,

We don’t have this listed for chocolate chip cookies. She will have to test that out herself at home.
She could try rolling out the cookie dough and cutting it out into a heart shape…..but for bake time and temp I would recommend that she try baking one at a time and time it herself.
The bake temp wouldn’t change.

Let us know how it ends up turning out!

Sincerely, Catherine
