Leftovers are a host’s best friend. Try our ideas and recipes to serve those extras in clever and delicious ways.

Turkey Leftover Basics
A few things to remember about leftover turkey:

  • Carve remainder of turkey and refrigerate or freeze within two hours of cooking. Store well sealed in zippered food storage bags or plastic food storage containers.
  • Refrigerate
  • turkey meat or leftovers no more than three to four days.

  • Freeze
  • turkey meat or turkey dishes no more than four months. To minimize freezer burn, ensure that turkey is well sealed before freezing.

  • Keep leftover turkey cool
  • in toted lunches with an ice block, or refrigerate when you get to work. Never let leftovers sit at room temperature.
