Pick up a rotisserie chicken at the supermarket, and keep your cool! Try these ideas for great easy meals:

  • Shred the chicken onto tortillas, add a squirt of hoisin sauce and a bit of coleslaw, then roll it up for a delicious meal that tastes like you were cooking all day!
  • Slice the chicken and place pieces on a plate. Add a basket of hot Pillsbury Grands!® Homestyle refrigerated buttermilk biscuits and a dish of heated gravy from a jar, then let everyone assemble their own biscuit-and-gravy sandwiches to eat with a fork for a deliciously filling meal.
  • Shred the chicken and refrigerate. Make rotinni pasta and cool; toss cooled chicken with pasta, and add mayo and a dab of mustard. Be creative with add-ins, such as dried cherries or cranberries, toasted almonds or walnuts, diced celery or apples.
  • Shred the chicken and follow the directions on a package of Old El Paso® taco seasoning for a great alternative to ground-beef taco filling. Serve with shredded lettuce, grated cheese, diced tomatoes, and other taco favorites.
  • Slice succulent summer veggies fresh from the garden or market into fork-sized strips (green peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, and zucchini are good starters). Toss with strips of rotisserie chicken, olive oil, and fresh or dried herbs. Heat in a wok, non-stick fry pan or grilling basket over medium-low heat just ‘til heated through. Serve over hot noodles or rice.
  • Shred chicken and add barbeque sauce to taste. Keep warm in a slow cooker until ready to serve on hamburger buns or Kaiser rolls.
  • Prepare several aluminum foil sheets, roughly the size of a magazine. In the center of each sheet, place a single portion of bite-sized red-potato chunks, shredded rotisserie chicken, and sliced peppers and onions. Top with three tablespoons of barbeque sauce, then bring sides and tops together, folding to close tightly. Place packets over medium heat on a grill and cook until potatoes are tender.
  • Blonde pizza isn’t funny…it’s tasty! Use Pillsbury® pizza crust as a base in a 9x13-inch pan coated with nonstick spray. Spread with garlic-flavored Alfredo sauce from a jar, then top with shredded rotisserie chicken. Add veggies, top with grated mozzarella cheese, and bake or grill over medium heat until crust is done.
