Pillsbury® Turnover FAQs

Everything you need to know about Pillsbury Turnovers: Check out our answers to some of the most frequently asked questions.
Pillsbury® Turnovers FAQ's
How long can I store unopened cans of Pillsbury Turnovers?

For best quality, use refrigerated dough before the “use-by” date on the package.

Where should I store the dough?

Store dough cans on a shelf in the 'fridge. Temperatures in the refrigerator’s door shelves or crisper can be too warm or too cold. Keep dough refrigerated until just before baking. Warm dough may be sticky and hard to handle.

What if I forget to refrigerate the dough?

Sorry, but cans of dough left unrefrigerated for more than two hours really need to be tossed out.

Can I use some of the dough now and save some for later?

When you open the can of dough, you activate the leavening that causes the dough to rise. After you open the can, you can cover the dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate it for up to two hours before baking. After two hours, the dough will begin to deteriorate.

Can I freeze the unbaked dough?

Nope, freezing unbaked dough may prevent it from rising once it is baked.

Can I freeze baked Turnovers?

Absolutely!  For best results, use within one month after freezing.

Can I microwave the unbaked dough?

We don't recommend it.   The uneven heat of a microwave prevents the dough from browning and baking through.

Can I bake Turnovers in a toaster oven?

Unfortunately, no. A toaster oven’s small size causes uneven heating, and the dough can burn.

Do I need to preheat the oven?

Yep, preheat the oven for 10 minutes before baking. That'll prevent it from baking unevenly.

What if I cannot find my favorite flavor of Pillsbury Turnovers?

Pillsbury would like all stores to carry all our products. Unfortunately, this doesn’t always happen. We recommend you express your interest in a particular product to your local store manager.
