Pillsbury® Dinner Rolls FAQ's
How long can I store unopened cans of Pillsbury Dinner Rolls?

For best quality, use refrigerated dough before the “use-by” date on the package.

Where should I store the dough?

Store dough cans on a shelf in the fridge. Temperatures in the refrigerator’s door shelves or crisper might be too warm or too cold. Keep the dough refrigerated until just before you're ready to bake it. Warm dough can be sticky and hard to handle.

What if I forget to refrigerate the dough?

Throw out any cans of dough left unrefrigerated for more than two hours.

Can I use some of the dough now and save some for later?

Opening the can of dough activates the leavening that causes the dough to rise. After the can is open, you can cover the dough with plastic wrap and refrigerated for up to two hours before baking. After two hours, the dough will begin to deteriorate.

Can I freeze the unbaked dough?

Nope, freezing unbaked dough keeps it from rising once it's baked.

Can I freeze baked dinner rolls?

Yes! For best results, use within one month after freezing.

Can I microwave the unbaked dough?

Nope, the uneven heat of a microwave prevents the dough from browning and baking through.

Can I bake refrigerated dough in a toaster oven?

We don't recommend it. A toaster oven’s small size will cause uneven heating, and the dough can even burn.

Do I need to preheat the oven?

Yep, preheat the oven for 10 minutes before baking. This helps prevent it from baking unevenly.

What if I cannot find my favorite Pillsbury® refrigerated dough product?

Pillsbury would like all stores to carry all our products. Unfortunately, this doesn’t always happen. We recommend you express your interest in a particular product to your local store manager.
