Fall’s the perfect time to get your kids to try out a new type! Check out all the varieties at your local farmer’s market, apple orchard or even grocery store.
Get them excited about this favorite fall fruit by making these apple treats with them:
Fondue is Fun, Too! Ready in a few minutes — have your kids put their favorite dipping ingredients into small bowls or custard cups (one per bowl). Try caramel sauce, granola cereal, chopped nuts or crushed chocolate sandwich cookies. Cut apples into slices and let the kids dip them into the sauce, then into one of the crunchy toppings. Quick tip: Put the bowls on a turntable for easy sharing!
Creamy Applesauce Dunk: It’s so simple:
- Combine ½ cup applesauce with 2 tablespoons vanilla yogurt and 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon.
- Dunk apple slices and graham crackers into the applesauce mixture.
- Let the kids mix up the apple concoction themselves!
