Nope, we don't mean eco-friendly. This St. Patrick’s Day, go green—literally—with these fun tips:
-
Mix it up. Stir together Lucky Charms® and Chex® cereals for a Pot O' Gold Snack Mix. Ready start-to-finish in just 15 minutes.
-
Get your greens. Make a green veggie snack tray with all-green fruits and veggies, like green bell pepper slices, celery sticks, zucchini rounds, and green apple and pear slices. Add a dip—sweet or savory—whichever you're in the mood for.
-
Turn up the heat. Instead of hot cocoa, try warm milk steamers with Irish Cream-flavored syrup (from a coffee shop or the coffee aisle at the market). Tint the milk or whipped cream with green food coloring.
-
Sweeten it up. Make green milk shakes with mint ice cream. It's so simple.
-
Pass the (green) bread. Add a drop of green food coloring to softened butter and serve it with warm breadsticks.
-
Play with your food. Doodle on your Toaster Strudel® pastries with green icing. (Just add a drop of green food coloring.)
-
Get the luck o' the Irish. Add a couple drops of green food coloring to milk to pour over a St. Patrick's Day Lucky Charms® cereal breakfast.
-
Bring the outdoors in. Make shamrock indoor s'mores. Just put a square of chocolate from a candy bar on a Shamrock Shape® holiday cookie and top it with a marshmallow. Microwave for a few seconds, just until the marshmallow puffs a little. Then top it with another cookie.
-
Go green in the a.m. Add a drop of green food coloring to icing, and spread it over just-baked cinnamon rolls.
-
Keep it natural. Skip the food coloring and pile on the green food, like spinach, avocado and fresh herbs. Some ideas: Spinach, Sausage and Feta Quiche, Guacamole Biscuit Bites, Crescent Rolls with Fresh Herbs.
Use your imagination. If it’s green, it goes!
