Dinner! Some nights, I don't even want to think about it, which is why I love my slow cooker!

Sure, slow cookers were your mom’s thing. But they are as hot now as ever because they make dinner practically foolproof. I don't even have to think about it until I get home from a busy day where those fabulous smells fill the air. I call that fancy little contraption my dinner saver.

I look for slow cooker recipes that are fast to toss together–you don’t want to spend 20 minutes chopping, cooking and prepping before you can even turn the slow cooker on. Perfect example...Bourbon-Spiked Pot Roast. With just a few ingredients and minimal prep time, it’s ready to start slow cooking in no time.

And the leftovers? They make a fabulous second-day meal…and one that’s so good your family won’t complain. Simply reheat the leftover pot roast slices, then pile them on a biscuit with bacon and Bourbon Barbecue Sauce. Delish. And it takes little hands-on time (less than 20 minutes) to hit the table.
