Hello Andrea, read below:

Judges will select the remaining 90 recipes and the entrants whose recipes are selected by the Judges will become finalists.  General Mills will notify all finalists on or about September 1, 2009. General Mills may also select alternates.  Alternates will not be notified of their selection as alternates.

It says on the website they will be nofied in October.  The on line judging goes on till the middle of Sept.

The 100 recipes competing in the 44th Bake-Off® Contest finals will be posted on or about October 21, 2009. 
 
Here is information about the September date –
Contest Officials will start contacting potential finalists end of this week (4/29/09).  As the official rules state, if your recipe is one of the 20 recipes selected to compete online, you will be notified on a rolling basis between May and August of 2009.  Officials will begin notifying all finalists on or about September 1, 2009.

I just want to make sure I understand this correctly. So General Mills will notify the finalists who they are around September 1st.  The October date is merely the day the general public will be able to view the list of finalists and their recipes. In other words if we don't hear anything by mid-September we most likely  did not make the finals, is that correct?  Sorry I have so many questions, thanks for taking the time to answer me.                         Andrea

Andrea - That's the same question/confusion I have. I'd like to know if I made the finals too! :)

is all hope lost?  it is now Oct 11th.  It is my understanding that they will be naming the finalists in 10 days.  If we haven't heard by now, should we stop holding our breath and crossing our fingers?
