I also love to use Crescent rolls for Pigs in a Blanket, except I make Turkeys in a Blanket!  Smile  I have been doing Weight Watchers, so I found a less fattening way to do the same.  I use fat free American Cheese, low fat Crescent Rolls and Turkey Hotdogs.

I usually consider two of these one serving, and heat up some baked beans on the side.  It is a fast and easy meal.

I'm getting hungry just thinking about them!

I spread out half of the crescent roll dough and pinch the seams.  I cut a piece of block cheese either mozzarella or jack and place it in the middle of the dough.  I put the other piece on top and pinch it sealed.  I bake according to package directions except I spread a tablespoon of jam 5 minutes prior to the timer going off.  I continue to bake it until the time is up or it is golden-brown.  Delicious!

There are so many favorites it's hard to pick just 1 but I think if I had to pick 1 I would have to say it has to be the one with spinich and feta cheese. I unroll it in a flat baking pan, pinch the slits together  and brush on melted butter then I spread chopped spinich and crumbled feta cheese, roll it up and cut into pinwheels. My friends and family go crazy for them.

Chicken  Squares, based on a Bake-off winner from nearly 30 yrs. ago. Easy! You can use canned or cooked chicken.  I use 1 large can chicken (from Costco), 4 oz cream cheese, dried onion flakes,1 T mayo & drieddill weed, to taste.  Combine all.  Unroll 1 tube of crescent rolls; pinch 2 triangles into a square.  Place 1/4 of the chicken mixture in the middle of each square.  Bring the 4 corners together, pinch together and twist slightly.  Brush with melted butter, sprinkle with Italian bread crumbs.  Bake @ 375 until golden brown.  Even my grandsons love these.

I have to say that I like to make pizza rolls with them. You take ordinary marinara sauce, shredded mozzerella cheese, and a few pepperoni, and roll up as usual.  Bake at temp. on can until golden.   Serve with a side of salad. My kids love them.

My favorite is using the crescent instead of Fillo dough for these quick easy apps.  - Place a square amount of dough to create a cup/shell inside a small muffin tin, bake in the oven till slightly brown, then add in a little jalapeno cream cheese mixture of your own taste into the shell (close to the top), bake until bubbly - just  few minutes.   gently remove from tins and top each with a Jalapeno jelly - or raspberry jam dollup and you have some very tasty hot apps..in minutes.   You can do the shells early and then just fill when ready to heat.
