Poll: What's your favorite use of Crescents?

I haven't met a crescent I didn't like. Smile I love them right out of the oven with some jelly or butter. And I love them when they are in recipes. (I like the Italian Crescent Braid and Cheesy Chicken and Artichoke Bites recipes!).

How do you like your crescents? What recipes do you use?

The other day I had left-over jalapeno peppers, so I decided to go out on a limb and try my own version of jalapeno poppers.  I mixed cheddar cheese, brie cheese, and mozzarella cheese with chopped up jalapenos, and wrapped them up in bite-size crescent roll pockets.

My friends loved them, but I still think that the baked brie recipe is the best.  Oh yes, and I almost forgot, like the brie recipe, I brushed the poppers with a beaten egg to brown them up nicely.  I need to try others! Stick out tongue

I flatten out the Crescent Rolls and close the seams. I spread soft butter on the rolls, then sprinkle with Parmesan Cheese. Then I make a layer of fresh Spinich leaf. I roll them up from the long side and then slice them about an inch thick. Bake for 10 -12 minutes. Enjoy!

You can make a GREAT coffee cake out of Crescents. Just roll the dough out pour your pie filling on one side fold over, pinch to seal, sprinkle top with sugar, make a few slits on top bake till golden brown.

My favorite has got to be the Lazy Maple Crescent Pull-Aparts.  I have changed it a little and made them almost sugar free.  Instead of using regular maple-flavored syrup I use sugar-free and I use Splenda brown sugar instead of regular brown sugar. They are great!!!  Whenever I make them I get rave reviews.  Thanks for the recipe Pillsbury.

I like to roll it out flat and sprinkle it with a little sugar. Once baked and cooled I mix cream cheese with sugar or  honey and beat it smooth. Spread it on the cooled crust and top with sliced fruit. Yum!

My favorite dish is BBQ cresent pockets. I take boneless skinless chicken breast and cook till tender. Take 1 can of cresent rolls and spred them on a 9x13 pan ( ungreased) When chicken is done and cooled I shred it and mix about 1/2 of a bottle ( use as much as you desire ) of your favorite BBQ sauce . Spred the BBQ chicken over the cresents . Then take another can of cresents and spred over the chicken . I take and pinch down the edges all around . Bake on about 350 degrees for about 10 - 15 minutes ( until cresents are golden ) . They make an awesome meal that my family enjoys . You can also take melted velveta cheese and pour over the top.

Re: Poll: What's your favorite use of Crescents?

This was an easy answer.  Pigs in a Blanket!  I make them all of the time and everyone says I make the best but with only two ingredients how can you mess up?

One can of Crescent Rolls and one package of little smokies, cocktail wieners or whatever you want to call them.

Cut each Crescent roll into 3 smaller triangles. Put a cocktail weiner on each one and roll up. Bake at the time and temp on the Crescent roll package (375?) for about 15 minutes or less depending on your oven, type of cookie sheet etc. Makes 24.

My sister came up with a really great one for christmas and thanksgiving this year.  She made a mixture of cream cheese, chopped onion, bacon, and cheddar cheese all rolled into crescent rolls and it was great.

I use crescents to make a fruit type pizza. Unroll Crescents, put on pizza pan and pinch seams together. Next lightly brown in oven at 350 degrees; cover with cream cheese beaten with 1 cup powdered sugar until really smooth, place over warm baked crescents, add sweetened strawberries or your favorite fruit, drizzle with either vanilla or chocolate glaze, refrigerate until serving time. (I sometimes save a little bit of the cream cheese/sugar mixture and drizzle it.) Either way, a good summer dessert. My grandkids have to have a little bit of whipped topping on top. either way, it makes a dessert .
