My Mother used to make Chess Tarts. The crust was light and flaky and she said it was french pastry that she used for the tart shells.
She is now in Heaven and I can't remember all of the ingredients she used other than, walnuts, butter, raisins, a touch of vinegar and heavy cream. All of these solid ingredients were put in grinder then the eggs and cream mixture before going into the tart shells.
After baking she topped them with whipped cream!
Would you share your ingredients with me? I'd like to share with the children in our family.
