Re: Lovin' the Doughboy!

The Pillsbury dough boy will always be special to me.  Being an Air Force brat, my Dad went somewhere for a couple of weeks (TDY), I don't know where, I was 10 years old. But when Dad returned, he brought me back a Pillsbury dough boy, I just thought that he was the cutest thing... we moved a couple more times and I lost the little guy.  I'm now 46, and Dad has pancreatic cancer... Sad I miss the little guy, I still wish I had him.

Re: Lovin' the Doughboy!

I have been collecting the doughboy items for over 10 yrs now.  When I got married (seven yrs. ago) I decided to decorate my kitchen with him.  At that time I had the points and got some items and different family members got me items from curtains to stove covers and towels.  I got this doughboy cookie jar and when you lift the lid it say his famous line "hoohoo".  Now my girls, instead of asking for a cookie from the cookie jar, they ask for a hoohoo.

I have kept the doughboy points, in case they do bring them back.  I do wish they would have kept them.  I bought pillsbury stuff more often just for the points, and had my family members collecting them for me whenever they bought it.

Re: Lovin' the Doughboy!

I absolutely adore the Doughboy..I have this story on my kitchen wall and have had several people ask me for a copy...for all the Doughboy Lovers here it is... The Pillsbury Doughboy died yesterday of a yeast infection and trauma complications from repeated pokes to his belly. He was 71. Doughboy was buried in a lightly greased coffin and the grave site was piled high with flours. Dozens of celebrities turned out to pay their respects, including Mrs. Butterworth, Hungry Jack, the California Raisins, Betty Crocker, the Hostess Twinkies and Captain Crunch. Aunt Jemima delivered the eulogy and lovingly described Doughboy as a man who never knew how much he was kneaded. Doughboy rose quickly into show business, but his later life was filled with turnovers. Despite being flakey at times he still was a crusty old man and considered a roll model for millions. Doughboy is survived by his wife Play Dough and his father Pop Tart. The funeral was held at 3:50 for about 20 minutes!!!                                         My framed saying has a picture of Doughboy with all sorts of kitchen items. I JUST LOVE IT...hope you did too.

Re: Lovin' the Doughboy!

Have you found any DOUGHBOY curtains yet?  I am also trying to find curtains - Blue and White pattern for years.  I know fabic is out there because I see different items being sold in the fabric.

Does anyone know where I can buy the blue and white DOUGHBOY fabric?

If so, please contact me at *********************

Just read your message PoppieFresh.  Thanks for the laugh.  I'm picturing the doughboy posed in all sorts of vacation locations...and I can only imagine two grown women getting scolded by a waitress for getting syrup all over their toys at the table...Big Smile

I just started cutting the points and I have no idea where I can redeem them. Can you lead me in the right direction. Thanks
