Use of Alcohol in Bake-Off Recipes

Hello...

Does anyone have any knowledge as to whether the use of alcohol (like wine in a sauce, where the alcohol cooks off) is allowed in Bake-Off recipes...and if so, does it end up hurting your chances?

Would love to hear any of your experiences with this.

Re: Use of Alcohol in Bake-Off Recipes

I have a "Best of the Bake Off Cookbook" and there are several recipes in the book that call for an alcohol based produce Amaretto is one that I can think of right off.
I say go for it. People that do not use alcohol are aware of how to substitute broth or other liquid in the recipes that they are making.  In the same way that people who do not eat pork  or beef will find a substitute.
